Chapel has always been an important part of hall life. A newspaper article from 1914 tells us that students began their day with a service at 7:15AM, went to Edensong at 6PM and finally had Compline at 10PM! After the Second World War, the basement chapel was replaced by a purpose built structure where services are currently held at least once a week. In addition to a part time chaplain, the hall also has a sacristan chosen from the student body.

Plans for the Chapel building
The Chapel plans were drawn up in 1960 by the architect Harry S. Fairhurst. The Chapel was then opened in 1961 following on from these plans. Photographs of the original plans are shown below.
